With over a decade of clinical experience and a passion for digital dentistry, Dr Mary Dawjee brings a uniquely holistic and facially guided approach to aesthetic and restorative care. After qualifying in 2009, she went on to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Aesthetic Dentistry (cum laude), an MSc in Orthodontics (cum laude), and an international Fellowship in Laser Dentistry. She is a certified Digital Smile Design (DSD) Master, with advanced training from Madrid and São Paulo.

Dr Dawjee’s core philosophy is rooted in creating smiles that are beautiful, functional, and biologically sound, always tailored to the individual. Her approach is creative, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based planning. She is also a passionate educator and current Vice President of the South African Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry.

Qualifications

Dr Mary Dawjee (BDS, PG DIP DENT (AESTHETICS), MSC (ORTHODONTICS))

Dr Mary Dawjee earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the University of Limpopo (Medunsa) in 2009. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Aesthetic Dentistry (cum laude) from the University of Pretoria and an MSc in Orthodontics (cum laude) From the University of Pretoria. In 2015, she completed a Fellowship in Laser Dentistry from the University of Genoa, completed via distance learning in Cape Town., and in 2016, obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from Wits Business School. Dr Dawjee is also a certified Digital Smile Design (DSD) Master, having trained in Madrid and São Paulo.

Digital and Holistic Treatment Planning:

A certified DSD Master, Dr Dawjee specialises in digitally guided, facially driven treatment planning. Her reverse-engineered workflows allow for highly personalised, interdisciplinary care- balancing aesthetics, function, and patient wellbeing from the very first consultation.

Clear Aligner Orthodontics:

With a Master’s in Orthodontics and extensive experience in aligner therapy, Dr Dawjee offers facially guided orthodontic treatments tailored to adult and aesthetic-conscious patients. Her treatments aim to enhance harmony between teeth, facial features, and overall oral function.

Dr Mary Dawjee is a passionate educator and respected voice in the dental community. She has presented at leading conferences, including DDS, SADA, and the Vogue Dental Conference in Botswana, and has twice been a finalist in the SAAAD Battle of the Smile. As both a presenter and MC, she brings insight and energy to platforms across Southern Africa, including DSD Day with Thinc Academy.

Her academic interests have led to multiple published articles in A2 Magazine and the South African Dental Journal, covering topics such as occlusal forces and growth, aligner treatment, laser therapy, and aesthetic smile design.
